IMATX attended a tadabbur (reflection) session on Surah Al-Fatihah with Dr. Mustafa Khattab at NAMCC Masjid Aisha, presented in partnership with the Furqaan Project. The post shares five reflections on the surah we recite at least seventeen times a day, the hadith behind each one, and small steps to bring them into our next prayer.
Many families came to our Family Halaqa at Craig and Sandra's home in Lakeway. The bapak-bapak looked at our new weekly halaqa on Surah Al-A'raf together, while the ibu-ibu and the kids shared good food, cake and good company.
This year we did Qurban together as one community: a Family Halaqah on 9 May, Eid al-Adha prayer and the sacrifice at the farm on 27 May, and Halal Bihalal on 7 June.
Sister Rahma, a PhD researcher, prepared her own EB2-NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition after two immigration attorneys told her it would likely be denied. It was approved, taking her from an F-1 student visa to permanent residency with no employer sponsor.
