Privacy
How we use your information
- We only ask for what we need to reply to you, add you to a group, or call you to help.
- Your answers go to the IMATX secretary and the board. They are kept by Netlify, the company that hosts this website.
- Netlify also measures how fast our pages load for visitors. We use it only to keep the website quick.
- We do not sell or share your information, and we do not add you to anything you did not ask for.
- In the WhatsApp group, other members can see your number. That is how WhatsApp works.
- When you ask for a member document, we check your number against the WhatsApp group. We do not keep it for anything else.
- RSVP answers for an event (name, WhatsApp number, how many are coming) are deleted 30 days after the event.
- Stories you send with Share your news: your name and email are only for the volunteer news editors and IMATX officers, and are never published. Netlify keeps the form, and the editors copy it into a private IMATX tracker on Google Workspace that only they can open. Only the approved story is published, with the credit you chose.
- To correct or withdraw a story you sent, email imatx.sec@gmail.com with your reference number. If it is not published yet, we stop. If it is on our website, we fix it or take it down there, and tell you what we did.
- We keep a story submission while we work on it and for 12 months after the story is published or closed, in case something needs correcting. Then we delete the form entry and your contact details; a published story stays up. You can ask us to delete your details sooner (see the next line).
- To help shorten or translate a story, our editors may paste the story text (never your name, email or private notes) into an AI writing assistant, Claude by Anthropic. A person checks every word, and the AI never decides what is published.
